Political History
In 2004, Liberal Peter Milliken defeated Tory Blair MacLean for a second time, winning his fifth term. Milliken was elected Speaker of the House of Commons in 2001.

Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada's first prime minister, won in this riding from Confederation to 1878 and again in 1887 and 1891.


The riding includes Queen's University, Royal Military College and Kingston Penitentiary. Primary employment sectors are health and social services, education and some manufacturing. Average family income is $68,494 and unemployment is 7.4 per cent. More than three per cent of the population is francophone, according to the 2001 census.

Canadian Action Party - Don B. Rogers - Education: BA in political science.

Another person who wasted their time in college getting a silly political science degree.

Conservative Party of Canada - Lou Grimshaw - Education: RMC, Kingston: BA in Political
Career Background: A professional army officer, he retired from regular armed forces in 1996, having served 39 years in various capacities, including with British Army, NATO service in Germany, UN service in Cyprus

I cant make fun of his political science degree as he has spent too much time serving his country. -

Indeed...which is my point.

The same reason I wouldnt do that to my own father who served in the Canadian AirForce for 25 years as well as his brother (my uncle) not to mention both of my grandfathers who served in WW2. I hold their actions in high regard.
